    @merksperk2 Comes to show that no matter where your from, there are still great number of humble athletes that are likable to the masses. Every country has it's projects. Some worst than others. Bottom line is how a person carries themselves. Great athlete (boxer) this Sergio Martinez guy..

    "Very poor country" is reserved for places like the Philippines and Haiti. Argentina is a developing country but not an impoverished hell hole. And of course I'm referring to the present.

    If I'm not mistaken, the reason Chavez even got a shot at that belt in the first place is that the sanctioning body stripped Sergio Martinez of it. Martinez thinks that that belt is rightfully his, and I agree with him. Chavez Jr., if you think that you deserve that belt more than Sergio Martinez does, then you have to fight him, and you have to fight him next. Be like your father and rise to the occasion. You're a world champion now. Fight the middleweight king of the world.

    @JoeBlo2 You have anything to back that up? Are you even aware that a few years ago their economy crashed, and the country had to shut down for days? That's right, people couldn't use their money, because it was WORTHLESS. They couldn't buy food, businesses were forced to close, there were insane amounts of protests on the streets.

    I don't know the state of it at this time, but Argentina has had a LOT of problems in the past.

    The only person made Sergio Gabriel Martínez popular is when he beat Paul Williams as a boxing expert I'm still not convince that his one of the best pound for pound boxer.

    HE needs to beat a fighter like Julio Cesar Chavez Jr if he thinks he's the best!!!

    I think Julio Cesar Chavez jr is a lot better boxer than him.

    @JoeBlo2 is not like haiti o africa but we have a lot of poor people and lots of poor neigborhoods inside buenos aires and ouside broken streets with big holes ,and especially sergio area is a bad area in south bs as if you go deep inside you start to see poor people but now is getting better a little but the bigest problem is the crime

    Sergio Martinez is one a incredible fighter and this video shows what a great spirit this man has. Boxing has a real hero and his name is Sergio.

    And his first ever professional fight (and first fight overall, since he had no amateur career) was when he was 22 years old. In that respect, I'd call Martinez a prodigy. Good movement, subtle tactics to take the steam off of punches, superb right hand jab, and a MONSTROUS left hand punch.

    Pacquiao Martinez fight is the one who could give us a fight we've been waiting to see. As Ivan86 have said, Pacquiao will be in a fight we couldn't predict who's gonna win. Isn't that exciting? We are not saying here Pacquiao would dominate Martinez in a fight, what we are trying to initiate is that Pacquiao has a fight with Martinez. It would not be an easy fight on both of them. We could see two of the best boxers at their prime proving with each other who is greater with them in todays time.

    Maravilla not only is a true champion, he's a true gentleman, sending out messages against domestic violence (many famous boxers have been involved in that) giving hopes to the poor kids... He is also studying English language!!!
